These gates presently stand guard at the entrance to the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, a 426-acre site, nestled in one of the most beautiful natural settings in the United States. He would incorporate floral, water, and wind images so as to provide the more than 250,000 annual visitors to the arboretum with an introduction to the abundant natural beauty that awaited them.
